Ovarian cysts can occur in women of any age, but they are more common in women who are still menstruating. Postmenopausal women have a lower risk of developing ovarian cysts. However, when they do occur, they are more likely to be cancerous. Giant ovarian cyst adenoma is a rare condition that affects postmenopausal women.
